South Yarra Primary School is celebrating a musical milestone after being awarded a Casio Digital Piano valued at nearly $3,000, thanks to the generosity of House of Pianos and Hello Music. The giveaway aimed to promote music in schools and inspire a love for music among students.

The winning entry was submitted by Harry, a student from South Yarra Primary, who expressed his heartfelt wish to see more music at his school. “I thought my school would love to have more music,” Harry shared.

His inspiring submission earned his school the coveted prize, bringing new opportunities for creativity and learning.

The giveaway comes at a time when many government primary schools struggle with limited or non-existent budgets for music education. Recognising this challenge, House of Pianos and Hello Music collaborated to make a difference, encouraging schools to embrace the power of music through initiatives like this one.

The announcement was made during the annual Hello Music Carols by Daylight concert at Federation Square over the weekend. The event brought together students from schools across Melbourne, showcasing the joy and community spirit that music fosters.

“We’re thrilled to present this piano to South Yarra Primary School,” said Stewart Kelly, owner of House of Pianos. “Music education is such a vital part of a child’s development, and we hope this piano will be the start of many magical moments for the students.”
