Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an advanced player, we’ve got a spot for you in our fun ensemble sessions.

What Is the Orchestra Programme?

The Australian Schools Orchestra Programme (ASOP), developed by Hello Music Studios, brings high-quality music education to schools and communities. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already familiar with a few tunes, students of all ages and levels are welcome. We’ll offer junior and senior practice sessions tailored to the performance pieces, but all students will perform together as one cohesive orchestra. Our program is designed to help students build confidence, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships—all while collaborating to create beautiful music together!

Orchestra Practice Times

We offer weekly orchestra practice sessions throughout each term, held at our partnered studios to ensure accessibility and convenience for all students. Additionally, for those who prefer a more flexible option, we host a Saturday session at our local Prahran studio at 3pm, providing an opportunity for students to join the orchestra practice at a time that works best for them. These regular sessions allow students to consistently develop their musical skills, build team spirit, and prepare for exciting performances throughout the year.

Can I join if I’ve never played an instrument before?

Yes! Instruments and guidance are provided; no prior experience needed.

A blend of classical and popular pieces, plus singing, dancing, and improvisation.

Absolutely. If you already play an instrument, feel free to use it.

Instruments are available for hire if you’d like to practice at home—contact our office for details.

Yes, we host performances so you can showcase what you’ve learned in a real concert environment.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Sumi Jo Melbourne Masterclass.

This exclusive masterclass offers emerging and established classical singers a rare opportunity to work with one of the world’s most celebrated sopranos. With a career spanning the world’s leading opera houses – including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, and the Verona Arena-Sumi Jo brings decades of international performance experience and artistic insight.

Applications are invited from singers who are committed to developing their artistry and performance at the highest level.

Selected participant fee - AUD $1,100

The selected participant fee includes:

  • Participation in the full Sumi Jo Masterclass day, 11am-4pm
  • Lunch and refreshments
  • Two complimentary full-day audience tickets to the Masterclass
  • Two complimentary tickets to attend the VIP Reception

Audition Application Fee - AUD $110

A refundable application fee of AUD $110 is payable upon submission of your application by bank deposit.

If your application is not selected, your fee will be refunded in full. If you are selected, the AUD $110 application fee will be credited towards the AUD $1,100 selected participant fee.
